Dr. Zhong Lin Wang is the Hightower Chair in Materials Science and Engineering and Regents’ Professor at Georgio Tech. He is widely considered a pioneer in nanotechnology and nanoscience. He is also known for having coined and pioneered the field of piezotronics and phototronics. Moreover, he has made several breakthroughs in the development of nanogenerators that have established the future roadmap for various processes involving the powering of mobile sensors. Dr. Wang has been the recipient to a huge number of international honour, titles, and awards. Some of them are: NANOSMAT Prize (UK, 2014), China International Science and technology Collaboration Award (2014), ACS Nano Lectureship (2013), Eni Award in Energy Frontiers (2018), etc.
He is also a prolific writer and has co-authored and authored as many as 1200 peer reviewed journal articles and 6 scientific textbooks. He has also worked on as many as 14 volumes of books related to nanotechnology and is one of the top 5 most cited nanotechnology authors in the world.Dr. Wang also takes keen interest in teaching. Till date, he has mentored as many as 50 PhD students, 10 MS students, and hundreds of postdoctoral fellows.
