Processing of personal data

International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM) shall take all reasonable steps to ensure that protection of personal integrity is strong within the company when engaging suppliers and/or contractors. For the purposes of GDPR Regulation personal data means name, address, telephone number, e-mail, social security number and/or other information that directly or indirectly relate to an identified or identifiable natural person even in a second or third link.

Principles we follow:

  • Information will be processed in a legal, correct and transparent way
  • Data should only be collected for specific, explicit and legitimate purposes
  • Only data relevant and necessary for the purpose will be collected
  • Information will be kept correct and updated
  • Data will be kept only for as long period of time as necessary to fulfill the purpose of collecting data or as required by law or other legitimate purposes
  • Processing of data may only be done if it can be ensured that the treatment is carried out securely
  • Data Controller is responsible for compliance with the above principles.

Processing of personal data includes all kinds of treatment such as collect, edit, archive, transfer, and storage.

What treatment of personal data do we have and for what purpose?

We process your personal data when you attend events that we arrange with partners or when you ask to be registered as a recipient for our News Letter or other messages.

We may also receive your personal data through your personal contact with us or your own employer. For example, personal data we collect may include name, phone number, e-mail, title, university/ institute or if you have responded to a customer survey.

As an employee of IAAM, we handle personal data in order to fulfill the employment contract.

We may use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • requests of any kind
  • to communicate and keep you updated
  • to send you information

We save personal data for as long as required to meet the above purpose or as long as we are required by law to do so. Then your personal data is deleted.

Who has access to personal data and will it be forwarded?

Your data may be managed by third parties in order for us to be able to provide you with the necessary information. For example, third parties may be companies involved in event planning. EU suppliers who receive your personal data must have signed a personal data agreement that ensures that they comply with legal requirements and instructions provided by IAAM on how to handle personal data.

We neither forward, sell or exchange your personal data for marketing purposes to third parties.

IAAM may also disclose your personal information to third parties, for example to police or other authorities, in connection with criminal investigations or if IAAM is otherwise required to disclose information in accordance with statutory requirements or authority decisions.

How are your personal data stored and protected?

Your personal data is stored in our business system and is regularly updated and cleared from data that is no longer needed to fulfill our commitments to you as a customer. Data we collect about you is stored in Sweden.

IAAM has taken technical and organizational measures to protect personal data from loss, manipulation and unauthorized access. In order to achieve full privacy protection, we continuously work on issues such as awareness, education, and organizational updates.

Your rights

As registered with IAAM you have the right to:

  • request information about registers with personal data IAAM has about you
  • request information about how IAAM processes and protects your personal data as well as purpose and legal basis for the collection
  • request correction or deletion of your personal data (unless there is statutory requirement for storing personal data, such as accounting rules or other legitimate reasons for storage)
  • submit a complaint to Data Inspectorate and request legal assistance?
