Prof Zeev Zalevsky currently serves as the Head of the Electro-Optics study program at the Faculty of Engineering and Director of the Nano Photonics Center at the Institute of Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials. He completed his doctorate in Optoelectronics from Tel Aviv University, Israel. He is widely regarded for his work and research focused on the generation and manipulation of light for use in ultra-small applications for high-speed information processing and biological sensing. He is also responsible for the development of the next-generation optical fibers for communication networks and medicine. He is also known for expanding the field of Fractional Fourier transform. Over the course of his career, Dr. Zalevsky has published as many as 400 articles in journals all around the world and has also authored 5 books. In the year 2007, he went to become one of the leading founders of the Bar-Ilan Institute of Nanotechnology & Advanced Materials. He has also been the recipient to a number of prizes, including the International Commission for Optics Prize (2008), Israeli Young Investigator Award in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (2012), Fund Juludan Research prize (2009), etc.
